No Looking Back
Some businesses fade away quietly. Others die loudly enough to save your life.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary is no more. The garden is being cleared. The electricity and water are off. The legal entity has been formally closed. The books, inventory, memories, spiritual tools, friendships, disappointments, lessons, and strange little miracles are being packed into boxes.
I am not looking back.
Not even at the memories.
I am taking only what I learned, the friendships I gained, and the absolute certainty that sometimes an ending is not a failure. Sometimes it is the most intelligent, intuitive, and self-respecting decision you can make.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: The End of an Era
Le Jardin d’Amour is no more.
As I write this, my husband, Franck, is packing up the shop, clearing the garden, and cleaning the grounds. He spent two weeks removing everything for me, including turning off the electricity and water and formally closing the business entity that was Le Jardin d’Amour.
There is no more looking back—not even at the memories. I am taking with me only everything I have learned and the incredible friendships I have gained.
Extracting myself from the business was inevitable.
Business in the city dropped by 90 percent since the new year. The new mayor is prioritizing businesses in a different part of town. They are favoring—oh, the irony—multibillion-dollar American businesses. We just got a new Burger King. The restaurant opened in Castelnaudary on July 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, in my experience, the current political administration’s permissive attitude toward delinquency and drug dealing has made the city center erratic and unsafe. Other women-owned businesses have also been forced to shutter. I am the third woman in my circle to close within the span of only a few months.
But honestly?
I am okay with all of it.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: Toxic Mold Was the Final Straw
The final straw was discovering toxic mold in my building—the mold that I became convinced had been making me inexplicably ill the entire time.
The roof was leaking. The landlord did not patch it. The city administration refused to allow a complete reroofing for more than a year. Despite all my best efforts to dehumidify, chemically treat, and aerate the building, the mold took over.
It was unlivable.
What kept me alive was Reiki, energy healing, acupuncture, and my astrology training.
My doctor initially thought I had endometriosis. The scans and blood tests proved otherwise. It was a Reiki practitioner whom I serendipitously met while on a mini vacation at Narbonne-Plage who noticed that I appeared immunocompromised.
A young doctor incorrectly assumed that it was all stress and that I should see a psychologist. My psychiatrist announced that I was perfectly sane.
My cardiac stress tests and cardiograms showed that I was perfectly healthy—something I have known since my near-death experience last year. An MRI and CAT scan showed my body is in great condition.
Then, while we were packing, I began reacting violently to some unknown trigger inside the shop.
And then I found it.
Toxic mold.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: Reiki, Kittens, Dead Birds, and a Brutal Reset
My doctor advised to stay out of the building and recover. We spent two weeks disinfecting everything with ozone and chemical cleaning treatments while I recuperated outside in my garden, breathing fresh air for weeks.
In fact, fostering kittens in my back barn and spending time with them in the fresh air helped give my body the reset that eventually allowed me to identify the allergic reaction.
I adopted one of the foster kittens. My daughter named her Birdie.
That name was quite interesting because I had found several dead birds in the garden, brought to us by Fajita—the mother of the foster kittens we rescued during the winter of last year.
Franck also caught a sick crow.
It died in my hands while I was trying to feed it.
The metaphor was not beyond me.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: The Two-Bird Metaphor I Could Not Ignore
In Freedom for All, Neville Goddard uses the biblical ritual of the two birds and blood found in Leviticus 14 as a psychological formula for transformation.
The killed bird represents releasing your old state of consciousness. The blood represents focused attention. The living bird represents the new and desired state that is released into freedom.
Goddard describes the two birds as the state you are currently conscious of being and the state you desire to become. The underlying biblical passage describes one bird being killed over fresh water and the second living bird being dipped into the blood before being released.
I knew Spirit was telling me that it was time.
The show was over.
Being a professional intuitive was over.
Giving readings was over.
That time and purpose in my life was—and is—over.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: Why I Am Done Giving Readings
I was starting to get fed up anyway.
You have read my other articles about people becoming increasingly disrespectful toward my gifts. I largely blame social media.
Everyone thinks readings are free and should be free.
“Why? So-and-so with 200,000 followers on Instagram gives free tarot readings every day. Why shouldn’t you, Leslie, when I send you a direct message?”
Because my time, training, energy, and abilities are not public property.
That is why.
On both the personal and professional sides of my life, I no longer offer readings. I am not even interested in sharing my insights with people who are “just looking for an opinion.”
They do not take the advice anyway.
Mentoring still stands.
Readings do not.
I am looking for invested and engaged people with whom to work.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: Coaching Became Culty—and I Refuse to Pretend Otherwise
Coaching as a profession has become so bastardized and commoditized that it is practically a scam these days.
There was a time when being an executive coach or career coach was a legitimate profession—one in which training, experience, and expertise formed the foundation of a credible practice.
Care and concern allowed me to make a living. It was not millionaire-level money, but it was respectable. It was an absolutely normal and honorable profession.
Now?
It is obscene.
TikTokers are selling coaching programs that exist only to make a quick buck rather than teaching people how to build a sustainable, self-respecting living and a meaningful personal life.
It is culty now.
It is undignified.
And, I know this because I've coached several of these Tik-Tok coaches - behind the shiny social media image is are deeply cracked (and broke) individuals.
At times, it has made me extremely sad to know that many people will never understand what a legitimate career coach can do for their lives.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: Law, Intuition, and the Discipline of Proof
By the grace of God, law led me in a new direction—a career aligned with meaning, purpose, and care.
If you know me by now, you understand that intuition is not simply something you feel or know. It is something you can test to produce results.
The number of phonies and spiritual bypassers in this space is abominable.
Intuition is not merely a conclusion. It is information that you must use, test, and prove.
Intuition is part of our reasoning faculties. Sadly, I have found that many people do not want to think. They want answers, but they do not want to think critically.
I get it.
Critical thinking is painful.
At times, it feels as though you are crucifying a part of yourself that must die so that you can live again—and live anew.
Reasoning is a renewal process.
That is what I enjoyed about coaching and energy work. They force you to reassess yourself constantly, control yourself, develop yourself, and take responsibility for yourself.
There is no burden-shifting in self-analysis and development.
It is all on you.
I have never offered a quick fix, and I never will.
My approach is to break it down and rebuild it again.
Perhaps that is simply Pluto in my first house.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: The Boutique Died, but My Purpose Did Not
The boutique was the externalization of my soul.
Running it was enjoyable and easy.
But then the energy dropped.
It died.
And that is okay.
Those of you who stopped by the store probably saw me working on my latest book, Law School for Visual Learners.
It is selling well in North America.
I enjoy working with law students because their brains are engaged, and they are invested in every possible way—financially, professionally, personally, and emotionally.
They cannot fail.
Or else.
I have always enjoyed working with people who are invested and engaged. Law students arrive ready to think, ready to work, and ready to take the learning process seriously.
That is where I want to direct my energy now.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: The People Who Made Everything Worthwhile
The very best part of Le Jardin d’Amour was meeting and engaging with all the other intuitives and healers—and my interns, who truly made my time there special.
Their hearts are wide open.
They are odd in a world that does not always respect or appreciate their talents.
My God, do I love these people.
I love supporting them.
My friendships with them made everything worthwhile. I see them. I understand them. I respect them.
They have helped me in immense ways, and I am better for knowing them—always evolving and always improving.

Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: My Family, Health, and Business After the Closure
Franck and I are happier than ever.
My children are thriving.
My family life is concrete and ever-blossoming.
My health is back to normal, and I can work out again. After two months of forced rest—
with Mars and the Sun conjunct—it has been difficult simply to sit still. But, it was essential for my subconscious to unlock and my heart to communicate and my conscious mind to hear and clear.
I will continue posting here, and I will place all my remaining products on this website.
Through a partnership with my husband’s business, The End Studio, he is hosting the online store so that I can liquidate the books, inventory, and items remaining from the
shop. I will also make local pickup available.
I should add that the new, astronomical tariffs France has imposed on international shipping made the boutique side of the business impossible to sustain at the already low prices I had been charging. At this point, nobody would buy anything from my boutique at those increased prices.
I will not pass those costs on to customers because I deem them the French/EU government’s fault.
Add that factor to everything else happening on the business side, and—as an investor—it was a clear sign to divest.
Le Jardin d’Amour Castelnaudary: What I Still Offer—and What I Absolutely Do Not
I still connect with the guides on the opposite side of my crystal ball.
I can still read tarot cards, knowing that I am a very powerful seer.
I can see, hear, and communicate with the souls of the living and with those who live in
the light.
I have developed my abilities, and I enjoy them.
Manifesting and making money are a breeze.
