Living Your Truth: Can You Handle It?

In Episode 8 of Valuable Insight, Daniel Beavers and I explore the truth. What is it? Where can you find it? What is your truth?

The truth can set us free. We live our lives with truths and lies.

We live life based on beliefs. Those beliefs can be rooted in truth or falsities.

Daniel and Leslie have made choices and lived their lives based on lies. These lies caused them great pain. It took some time to find their own truths, but they did it. And so can you.

Are you living in your truth?

Do you know others who don't live in their own truth?

What is the price we pay to avoid living in the truth?

Can lives be based on lies?

Daniel had to come to terms with his own identity as a gay man. And, live his truth as a gay Muslim man.

Leslie had to overcome the lies of her own childhood where being herself is not safe, desirable, or encouraged.

We discuss how children learn to disguise their true selves to avoid abuse, pain, neglect and other negative reactions from their parents and loved ones.

Re-arranging our mind comes from taking an objective look at what we believe. If our beliefs are based upon falsehoods, we can lead false lives. We can repress our true selves. Then, we lose touch with ourselves. Eventually, we will believe anything we hear. Why? Because we have lost touch with our ability to discern the truth.

Daniel and Leslie encourage you to live and tell your truth. Own it. Free yourself from false beliefs and premises to create a life that's truly you.

When we are honest with ourselves, we are honest with others.
